The Goodest Cast is a podcast and youtube channel that dives into drifting and car culture through conversations with drivers, builders, creatives, and enthusiasts. Hosted by Palmer Sanderson, the show blends humor, stories and knowledge of the scene to highlight the people in the community as well as their journeys, challenges, and passion for motorsports.
In 2024, I came on board to take the brand from a personal side project into a credible and visually polished media outlet. Since then, we've transformed The Goodest Cast into a staple with high-quality video production, engaging social content, and a growing community of motorsport fans.
Since I've joined the team, we've doubled the subscriber count and quadrupled our reach, views and engagement.
The channel is catching momentum and we're putting out content viewers enjoy and are inspired by.
Elevated the visual identity of the brand.
When I joined, the podcast was shot on a webcam with minimal visual consistency.
I transitioned us to a professional camera setup, improved lighting, and introduced a clean cohesive look across YouTube thumbnails and Instagram posts.
The difference in quality and aesthetic instantly made the content feel more premium and aligned with the community.
Created a short-form content strategy that works.
After each episode, I dig through the full conversation to find the most engaging, entertaining, or insightful moments.
I then cut these into social-first clips that are optimized for Reels and TikTok. These clips consistently perform well, helping us grow a loyal following and draw new listeners to the full episodes.
Handled production, editing, and everything in between.
I edit every podcast episode, handle both video and audio post-production including sound cleanup and mixing. I also redesigned the website to better reflect our tone and audience, directed and shot merch campaigns, and built a streamlined process for how we roll out content across platforms, making everything feel more intentional and cohesive.
We put together a minimalist kit with lighting and a cinema camera to significantly improve video quality, which has increased podcast growth and credibility. In addition, social clips also look sharper.
We started creating cinematic vlogs that follow Palmer behind the scenes, at events and in the garage. I film and edit each of these videos.
It's been a fun creative outlet and a key part of the brand. These videos give people a raw and personal look at the challenges and stories behind the cars. The response has been overwhelmingly positive.
I redesigned the website using photos and content I captured at various events, creating a more cohesive and visually engaging experience. The site currently functions as a merch shop and will soon re-launch as a car parts store, aligning with the growing direction of the brand. The podcast has become a strong driver of sales for our sponsors, many of whom carry the same parts that will soon be available through the shop.
